Subject: INFO: CyberScape (tm) VR Authoring Software
INFO:
CyberScape version 2.5 is now available. New features include:
Amiga AGA support, real-time clock support, and laserdisk players
support.
DESCRIPTION:
CyberScape software is currently being used on commercial and
research VR projects around the world. It is a cost-effective and
non-intrusive alternative to the more expensive and cumbersome
goggle/glove VR systems.
CyberScape uses the "projected reality" metaphor by which the person
or subject is immersed in the virtual world through real-time video
input - the same metaphor used in VIDEOPLACE and VIDEODESK systems
by Myron Krueger and Mandala (R) systems by the Vivid Group.
CyberScape is a script-based, event-driven, multi-threaded authoring
software that takes advantage of a physically based 2D animation
system. For example, a complete two-team volley ball experience can
be constructed with only about 100 lines of code.
